Seatopia: Kid’s Park Branding

Seatopia is a kid’s theme park centered around educating children on preserving water/environment, recycling, and teaching children on marine life. In addition, creating the theme for the kid’s park was through collaborative work. After deciding the theme of the park and its mission, each team member created individual logos and collateral for the park.

With part of the audience being children, a starfish was incorporated into the logo. Starfish are seen as friendly creatures, and utilizing a starfish connects to the mission of educating children on marine life. Lastly, the starfish was depicted holding its arm out to create a welcoming feel for those attending the park.

In addition, the word “SEATOPIA” makes up two of the starfish’s arms simulating them being open and welcoming. To add onto the feeling of welcoming, the “O” in “SEATOPIA” represents the starfish’s face with a small smile within the letter.

One of the two colors used within the park’s logo is blue. Blue represents the mission statement of teaching children on marine life, and is utilized as bubbles, spots, and smile within the logo. In addition, blue represents, “freedom,” “imagination,” and “intuition,” which we want the children to experience while at our park.

Another color used within the park’s logo is orange. Orange was utilized for the starfish’s arms and the park’s name, “SEATOPIA.” Orange represents, “youthful,” “energetic,” and “happiness.” These three words also represents one of prime audiences; the kids who will attend the park. Lastly, orange was utilized because orange-brown is the most common color of starfishes.

Part of the collateral for Seatopia are business cards and a letterhead. For both the business cards and letterhead, the park’s logo was implemented. In addition, the bubbles from the logo were used in the corners for the business cards and letterhead. To create depth, the bubbles were overlapped and scaled at different sizes.

The rest of the collateral includes souvenirs for children to take home after coming to Seatopia. For the park tickets, those attending are able to write their name and date to remember when they came to the park. The pirate ship depicted on the front of the ticket connects to the pirate aspect of the park.

The crochet mermaid bag acts as a holder for the treasures the children find. While at Seatopia, children are able to play in the sandbox and find sea glass that they can store in the bags. The act of searching for “trash” and recycling it connects back to the idea of helping to preserve the environment.

Lastly, children can bring home pins that depict the water and sunset. The colors seen on the pin are the same colors utilized in the park’s logo. The pin connects to the part of the mission where we strive to teach children on how to help preserve the environment.
